Having your "A Game" out is a pure compliment that is levied to a person who is unequivocally the "best of the best" and "on top of the world" . It is a type of slang sports terminology. Sorry for the confusement...!

Thanks Lancelot, I was confused at first but I got it after I read it a third time. I think I know who you are now.

Lancelot, since you're a Thoreau fan, there is still a rumor swirling up here in New England that while Henry David was living in Ralph Waldo's cabin on Walden Pond, and while Ralph Waldo was exploring his transcendental urges, his friend Henry David was exploring urges of his own - with Mrs. Emerson. That at least is the tenacious gossip. But I of course disdain all gossip.

Thanks Teddy for being ever so ready ! Your research shows a very Thoreau Job...
To do anything in the world worth doing, we must not stand back shivering and think of the cold and danger, but jump in, and scramble through as best we can -

The fact is, that to do anything in the world worth doing, we
must not stand back shivering and thinking of the cold and
danger, but jump in and scramble through as well as we can.

Let grace and goodness be the principal loadstone of thy affections. For love which hath ends, will have an end; whereas that which is founded on true virtue, will always continue...
